Welcome to the Sandown Major 70 League Home Page
|
As a member of the Quintown Association, Sandown competes against the neighboring towns of Chester, Fremont, Hampstead, Kingston, Newton, Danville, Plaistow and Atkinson.
The Major 70 division is made up of players ages 10 - 12, who have tried out. Players will work on and use advanced fundamentals of baseball skills both offensively and defensively. Players can anticipate playing 12 regular season games (six innings each). Practices are left up to the discretion of the coaches, however, plan on at least 2-3 practice a week in the beginning of the season. It is highly encouraged that players also practice their skills outside of the normal practice and playing time in order to improve their skills. Players will play on a diamond with a 50 foot pitching distance and 70 foot base line. This enables players to put all their skills together with lead offs, balks and dropped third strike rule. All home games are played at Sandown's Miller Field, located at 212 Main Street, on the David Martin Augusta III Memorial Field. |
