A hearty congratulations to Team Paradis, winners of the 2nd Annual DMAIII Memorial Softball Tournament! Check out photos from the day by clicking here. The championship game came down to this group versus last year's winner Team Bonnell. In a hard fought, scrappy battle, Team Bonnell gave it their all, but in the end Team Paradis proved too much to handle. We want to thank all of the participants for making this such a great day and a special thank you to the tournament Director, Mr. Michael Harnois for once again, putting together such a fun event. Help us grow this for next year by forming your teams early. Hope to see you all there!!
More importantly, who's going to take down defending champ, Team Bonnell? On August 16th and 17th we'll be holding the 2nd Annual David Martin Augusta III Softball Tournament. For those who missed it last year, we had so much fun and hope you'll join us. It's a great opportunity for us to get together as a community to share in a celebration of David's life and raise some funds to keep the DMAIII field at Miller Park in tip top shape. Teams are forming now and you'll need to go here for full tournament details and sign your team up. Don't wait. Sign up now!! See you on the ball field:) From Left to Right: Bill Bonnell, (1st Place - Team Bonnell) David Augusta, Christine Augusta, John Donahue (2nd Place - Team SBSA) and Tournament Director Michael Harnois.
On Sunday June 22nd our very own Sandown Braves were invited to participate in the NESN Clubhouse. A show that is all about the kids and gets them involved and essentially they run the show. Congrats to the Sandown Braves on a great season an what a way to end it. Too many to name in this photo. Do you spot someone you know? Post a message and tell us:)
On Sunday, June 8th the AAA All-star games where hosted by SBSA at the Miller Sports Complex in Sandown. The festivities got underway after a rousing version of the Star Spangled Banner was sung by 8 year old Cheyenne Aliberti. (Pictured above) Congratulations go out to all of the kids who made the all-star teams and a special thank-you goes out to SBSA's AAA Director, Tim Archer for putting on a fantastic event!
On Saturday May 10th, the dedication ceremony for the new David Martin Augusta III Memorial Field was held at the Roy L Miller complex. Upon completion of the field dedication everyone gathered around the Augusta family to reveal a gorgeous monument in David Martin's honor. The community and volunteer support from the day this idea was born, through a rain soaked dedication ceremony, speaks volumes about young David and his impact on all of us. Thank you all, so very much for making this a great day! Please check out the great article published in the Tri-Town news. To view article click here Thank you to everyone who ventured out today to help out with the spring cleaning. We dare say it was a record turnout. Fields now look great and are ready for some ball playing! Your efforts are what makes all this possible. Thanks again! - Enjoy these shots from the day. Cheers, SBSA
